Back in end of April, Google rolled out their mobile-friendly update, effectively giving more ranking to websites that are mobile-friendly. While all the TechStylish-built websites built were already responsive and mobile-friendly, the TechStylish.com website really needed the an update! I am happy to say that it didn’t take too long but it was a sorely needed reminder for me to mind my own site as well as as those of my clients.
Life gets busy but if your business depend on clients, who are increasingly computing via their mobile device (iPhone, Android, tablets) then you need to make sure your website passes the Google Mobile Friendly Test.
Does your website pass the test?
This update by Google makes a lot of sense because increasingly busy people are using their mobile device to access content online. Approximately 25% of internet traffic in the United States come from a mobile device, and the global average is 33%. In some countries, like India, the majority of internet traffic comes from mobile device by far. However, as Wall Street Journal recently pointed out, it isn’t mobile vs. desktop in a zero-sum game. Mobile traffic is increasing but desktop traffic is not decreasing. It is important to have a website that is responsive and will work on multiple devices.
